I bought my first borzoi in 1975 and although it is many years ago, I remember it very
well. It was tricolor female Aljona z Krneckeho udoli /Delon z Larisova x Halawa z
Neustejna/, unfortunetly she died from intestinateknotting in the age of 17
month. I was shocked and verz sad from her death and I was sure that the only medicine is new
borzoi. In a short time I had at home new borzoi female Gajana Gajaneta, she had wonderfull white and gold color and her parent were Rasan aus der Taiga and Copelie z
Larisova. Gajaneta was verz successful at show and racing too and in1979 she was mated with Brigand Zumir
/Ghazi Arslan z Neustejna x Myriel z Moskevskeho chovu/ and in short time we enjoyed our first litter and two years later the mating was repeted once
again. Between these two litter Gajana was able to win many races and became many racing
titels, in fact she won all attainable racing titels (Racing winner, Champion of socialist states and many
others). I thing that the most heavy win Gajaneta reached at Champion of socialist
states, where she won against German bitch Blondy v. Kyss Kylassy. This time was very happy for me and I still have had all Gajana´s
prizes, what I love the most is a poster inviting visitors to racin in Lednice, where is
written:…"You will have a chance to see famous Gajana Gajaneta from Moravska
Trebova...".
In Lednice there were many visitors, usually about 5000 people and the atmosphere was unforgetable for
me.
I recall Gajaneta very often, and some my recalls make me smile: Years ago I were with Gajaneta in
Hungary, where were took place at a racing. We had to wait for our run and before borzoi we watch runs of
greyhound. I don´t know the reason but in a moment Gajaneta wanted to run too. I wasn´t prepared for such strong
power, it caused I wasn´t able to hold Gajaneta and she ran with greyhound after that she went to the start of
borzoi, she didn´t look tired or exhausted and she won. I often think about
this, may be Gajaneta couldn´t see how slow the greyhouds ran and decided to help
them… In 80´s she was the best racing borzoi female.
I like to remember the perfect friends, owners of many sighthound breeds, we spent many nights together laughing and
talking. I hope that new people in coursing club is very similar to us and that the relationships are as good as I can remember from 80´s.
My breeding:
A litter (Gajana Gajaneta x Brigand Zumir): Atina, Asjav (exported to Polen),
Alba (exported to Austria), Ariona, Albion (exported to France) this male was on the second place of the Franch racing
ranking-list. Askana became champion and she reached a couples of CACIB.
B litter (Gajana Gajaneta x Brigand Zumir): Ch. Borrow my very favourite male,
Ch. Blondie, Ch. Brinela, Briana, Ch. Bonnie, Bennita - racing champion.
C litter (Gajana Gajaneta x Altaj Agibeys): the only puppy - female Carewa
(exported to Hungary)
D litter (Gajana Gajaneta x Alexander Nijiski): Dajana (exported to
Germany) and Dahoman racind and breeding dog, the rest of puppies weren´t able to survive the epidemy of
parvovirus.
After this litter I imported new blood in the Czech republic, white and gold male - Bojanoff z Krymskej Sfory
(Aronoff z Krymskej Sfory x Vorenoff Tascha) I use him in my breeding program and nowdays we can find his name in many pedigrees of successful Czech
borzois.
I decided to have a male out of Bojanoff and Ich. Bartsia z Pocapelske strane, his name was Carew z Modre
ovecky. In 1987 I rescued white and black female Beresina z Plzenskeho chovu (Ch. Ben Frajan x Abba
Carslei) and used her in my breeding program.
E litter (Brik Margitin Dvor x Beresina z Plzenskeho chovu):
Elektra and Elita both were good breeding bitches.
F litter (Carew z Modre ovecky x Beresina z Plzenskeho chovu): Ch. Fatima (her son -
Ich.Ceasar z Donova was exported to Polen and now is used in the Kennel Des Princes de Kazan in France) and
Mch. Falco.
G litter (Carew z Modre ovecky x Beresina z Plzenskeho chovu):
Gajana and Racing Champion Galina.
H litter (Carew z Modre ovecky x Beresina z Plzenskeho chovu):
Hilerica, Harba, Halawa exported to Polen, Halka, Haidea - successful at shows,
Hyperion.
Ch litter (Carew z Modre ovecky x Beresina z Plzenskeho chovu): showing
Chalcedon.
After that I try to use Beresina´s dauthers in my breeding program: Elektra and Elita.
I litter (Elektra z Palatinu x Carew z Modre ovecky): CACIL Idea exported to
Germany, Imperial and Ideal.
J litter (Elita z Palatinu x Carew z Modre ovecky): Jessica, Jantar and
Jaqueline.
K litter (Elektra z Palatinu x Ich. Blagovest): unfortunetly only two males
survived: Kevin and Kelly.
By chance I got grey female - Asmara Sejd-Adab (Falco z Palatinu x Pamela z Moskevskeho chovu).
L litter (Asmara Sejd-Adab x Ch. Cellini Leyton): I have liked Lyon,
Lucien, white Lucy and Likoni - exported to Austria.
P litter (Asmara Sejd-Adab x Balard Ulubienec Cara): Princely, Perla,
Polly, Palomia, Paloma.
By another chance I used Fayand des Princes de Kazan (Voi des Princes de Kazan x Diva des Princes de
Kazan)
M litter (Fayand des Princes de Kazan x Ideál z Palatinu):
Maxim and Ch. Merylin.
N litter (Fayand des Princes de Kazan x Ideál z Palatinu):Natalma and
Mch. Niki.
O litter (Jessica z Palatinu x Filaret Moskebskij): Orri, Ossian,
Jch. Oliver (in Slovakia).
Q litter (Jessica z Palatinu x Aegir z Bilma): at show were presented only Quinn and
Quinta.
In the end I must admit, that shows and show results are more question of money than quality of the dog. On the other hand I we devote borzoi many
thing.
I have lived with borzoi more than 25 years of my life and I can say, that if you have borzoi and can understand
it, you will be never sorry. You will spend all your life together with borzoi.
